Covid-19 Resource Centre
As the pandemic threat reduces and we begin to live relatively normally with Covid, SEPS intend to remove some material from these pages and to integrate content that remains relevant into some of our general safety pages.
The generic risk assessment sets out the University's overall approach to Covid and has been reviewed regularly throughout the pandemic period and adjusted to take account of changes in risk over that period. The lastest revision takes account of removal of the final legal restrictions in Scotland and we hope that the risk continues to remain low.
Unit managers and Principal Investigators should note that their task-specific risks assessments should be kept under review and any Covid element may need to be updated if there are significant changes in risk in the future.

Risk Assessment Templates
SEPS recommend that the assessment provided within the Generic Risk Assessments tile on this webpage be used as a basis for local risk assessments, with sections being deleted, amended and added as required to reflect the local activity being assessed.
The Vulnerable Person Risk Assessment Templatehas been withdrawn. Managers and staff should consult current Scottish Government guidance for advice on managing the risk to those who are clinically vulnerable.
Latest Scottish Government advice to people on the Highest Risk List
Face Coverings and Respirators
During the Covid pandemic we all became familiar with routine use of face coverings. There was also a lot of discussion about different face coverings and how they might help reduce the spread of the virus or protect the wearer. SEPS have produced a short guide that aims to clarify the differences between the types of face coverings.
Face Coverings and Respirators (v2.1)
Although no longer a legal requirement some people may still wish to wear a face covering to prevent the transmission of COVID-19. The University encourages this in busy indoor areas. It is recognised that there are some circumstances where this may not be possible and some individuals may be unable to do so for medical (or other) reasons. The Scottish Government have produced an exemption card and while there is no requirment for an individual to prove they are exempt these may make individuals feel more confident and comfortable (see link for more information).
Skin Health and Disposal of PPE
Skin Health
Hand sanitiser, increased hand washing and regular use of face coverings can increase the risk of dry skin and dermatitis, these resources will help staff to manage their skin health.
